Frosty mud cracks

Ice crystals in mud can affect the pattern of mud cracks that form.
— Geologists study mud cracks in part because they are sometimes preserved in sedimentary rocks. I haven't heard of a case where frost-influenced mud-cracks like this have been found in the geologic record, but I assume it happens sometimes.
