Rare Earth Elements

Overview of Rare Earth Elements (<a class="External" href="http://minerals.usgs.gov/minerals/pubs/commodity/rare_earths/myb1-2008-raree.pdf">USGS, 2008</a>)

Notes:

Prices for REEs are variable, dependent on purity of the oxide, and are not always publicly available.  Prices shown in this table are all from a 2008 USGS report on REEs.  These give a good relative measure of value, but in virtually all cases the absolute value has risen since then, sometimes significantly.

Yttrium is considered an HREE because it is often co-localized in deposits with HREEs.

There is no market for Promethium on account of it's extreme scarcity.

Scandium is not found in oxide form so only price of the refined metal is shown.
