A bite in Malaspina glacier

On <a href="http://www.groundtruthtrekking.org/Journeys/LifeOnIce.html">Malaspina glacier</a>, forests grow on the edge of the ice, which accumulates soil as the ice bluffs shrink.  At a small lagoon, forests calve into the water below.
— Seawater accelerates glacial melting. If this lagoon continues to expand, it may quickly eat away at the glacier.
