Gold Jewelry

Gold can be worked into innumerable forms
— More than half of all gold ever mined can be found in the form of jewelry such as this.  Because all gold is basically chemically identical, it's very difficult to know if this was fashioned from a single Alaskan nugget, gold from a massive strip mine with acid mine drainage, or gold flecks painstakingly separated in toxic mercury by an African villager.  The current price of gold is very high, but with this increased value comes increased destructive gold mining.
