Cottonwood limb sprouting

Cottonwood are very good at growing after being broken up by floods (in this case by a tsunami). A green limb laying on the ground can send down roots and pop out leaves, and given a bit of luck might become a full-sized tree with a head start over seeded-in neighbors.
