Resource taxes, royalties, and rents in Alaska

The direct returns to the state from raw resources in Alaska vary a lot, with oil/gas by far the highest, and metal mining the lowest.

These are estimates of the total amount of rents, royalties, and resource taxes paid by various natural resource industries to the state of Alaska.  These take into account a variety of deductions and exemptions.

The sources for the numbers for oil/gas, fishing, and metals mining can be found in our article called "Mining Taxes and Revenue in Alaska".  The number for coal was calculated by us, and described in our articled called "Coal Taxes, Rents, Royalties in Alaska".
